Wilpattu National Park is Sri Lanka’s largest and one of its oldest national parks, located on the northwest coast of the island. Known for its unique “willus” — natural sand-rimmed water basins — it offers a diverse landscape of dense forest, open plains, and wetlands. The park is a prime location for spotting leopards, elephants, sloth bears, deer, and a wide variety of birds. Its rich biodiversity and peaceful, uncrowded environment make it a top destination for nature lovers and wildlife photographers.
